Unique, Hardy Plants for Your Lawn & Garden 

River City Garden Centre carries an unusually wide variety of plants year-round.  Our desire to be the best independent garden center in Harford County drives us to carry some of the area's most unique and unusual plants - ones you typically won't find at the larger, less personal centers. 

We have a wonderful assortment of hardy perennials, including the truly beautiful Echinacea Sundown that shows off magenta and orange petals, and the gorgeous September Charm Anemone Windflower. This tall flower has pretty delicate pink flowers with yellow center. One of our personal favorites is the striking Sweet Kate Spiderwort. Its bright yellow green foliage opens up to deep indigo flowers and these absolutely amazing blooms open & close with the sunlight. 

If you are looking for ornamental or border grasses instead of flowering plants, we have you covered. One of our top sellers is the unique Japanese Blood Grass. We carry the Red Baron variety which has a nice, clean, red foliage that will keep its color until winter and then return in the Spring. If it’s green grass you like, we have a variety of different fescues & sedges that would be just the thing to add some texture to your yard. Or if you would prefer a flowering grass, our liriope offers the best of both worlds: a variegated white and green leaf that produces brilliant purple flowering shoots. This hardy perennial is a landscaper’s must-have!!!
